Scope
These terms govern the use of stateguessr.com and all games, account features, leaderboards, and related services offered there. By registering or using stateguessr, you accept these terms.
Registration and user account
Using stateguessr is generally free of charge. Some features, especially permanent storage of scores, rankings, and settings, may require a user account. You must provide accurate information during registration and keep your access credentials confidential. Authenticated users can export their personal account data and request account deletion from the user area.
User responsibilities
You may use stateguessr only in compliance with these terms and applicable law. This applies to your account and to any content, data, or other input you submit through the service.
In particular, you must not:
- submit or distribute false, unlawful, or misleading content where doing so violates laws, third-party rights, or official requirements;
- send spam, chain messages, or other abusive communications through any contact or interaction features we provide;
- use or upload copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise protected material without the required authorization;
- use the service for unlawful, anti-competitive, insulting, discriminatory, racist, pornographic, or otherwise offensive purposes;
- circumvent security mechanisms, access restrictions, game rules, rate limits, or other technical protection measures;
- use bots, scripts, scrapers, or other automated methods to abuse the service or manipulate results;
- use multiple accounts, technical workarounds, or other manipulations to unfairly influence leaderboards, daily scores, or other gameplay systems.
Use of the service
We may restrict, suspend, or remove content, scores, accounts, or other uses if there are concrete indications of a breach of these terms, applicable law, or the integrity of gameplay. This may also include review by authorized administrators and deletion of user accounts where necessary for moderation, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.
Rights to submitted content
To the extent that you submit content or information that may be protected by copyright or similar rights, you confirm that you are entitled to do so. You grant us a non-exclusive right to store, technically process, and display that content within the service to the extent required to operate stateguessr.
Availability
We do not guarantee that stateguessr will be available at all times, without interruption, or free of errors. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service or individual features at any time, subject to any mandatory legal rights.
Liability
We are liable for our own content in accordance with applicable law. For content submitted by users, external links, or third-party information, we do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Otherwise, liability exists only within the limits of applicable law, in particular for intent and gross negligence.
Copyright
The content, text, graphics, game concepts, and other materials published on stateguessr are protected by copyright or other rights unless stated otherwise. Any use beyond what is legally permitted requires our prior consent or the consent of the respective rights holder.
Changes
We may update these terms for the future if there is an objective reason to do so, especially due to legal, technical, or operational changes. We will point out material changes on the website in an appropriate manner. The German version is authoritative.
